Social Issue behind Game

The game made it very clear, that this was a game designed in effort to help end world hunger. Websites dealing with this issue include the following; http://www.worldhunger.org/, http://www.goveg.com/worldhunger.asp,http://www.bread.org/learn/hunger-basics/hunger-facts-international.html. Word hunger which is term indicated the widespread lack of nutrional elements neccessary for a human, the most recent estimate was done in 2006,according to the FAO's research, 854 million have people are victims of being malnourished. Unfortuatly children are the most visible victims for malnourishment plays a major role in at least half of the 10.9 million child deaths each year which is five million deaths accounted for each year. Poverty and the lack of natural ressources ( fertile soil) often leads to world hunger. In 2006 alone, almost 986 million people lived below the international poverty line, earning less than a dollar per day.Every day, nearly almost 16,000 children die from hunger- related causes. One child dies every five seconds...What may be surpriing to many people is that there is more than enough food in the world to feed the entire human population of today," Our meat-based diet is partly to blame, as land, water, and other resources that could be used to grow food for human beings are being used to grow crops for farmed animals instead. According to a recent report by Compassion in World Framing, "[c]rops that could be used to feed the hungry are instead being used to fatten animals raised for food." It takes up to 16 pounds of grain to produce just 1 pound of edible animal flesh. " Maybe becoming vegan is not the answer but there are numerous things people can do, start by causing awareness by joining your nearest Amnestity International club or better yet play free rice!

game review, free rice

Free Rice is as basic as games get( " click on the answer that best defines the word"), I understood how to play the game but the game itself isn't as easy as it seems. There are diffrent levels of vocabulary and I am no genius! However every answer wrong comes up again as to make up for lack of inteligence. With every correct answer, the website donates 20 grains of rice through the UN World Food Program to help end hunger, I've already donated over a thounsand!
The background of the game so happens to be a lavishing land field, a word is typed in bold along with the word "means" next to it, one then has a selection of four words to choose from. On the same page, a wodden bowl of rice
is there and as the game progresses, grains of rice are put into the bowl, readers are also able to keep track of their score.
I love this game and I can't think of any improvements!
The game allows those to participate in a wealthy cause as well as improving one's speaking, writting, thinking, grades and job performance etc... I hope to G-d this game stays for a really long time because it's so phoenominal, I want my kids to play as well the next generations to come. This game is going to help change the world! Often people complain that they simply can't give back to the community because of busy schedules. Free Rice is an internet based game and ther are no commitments, all ages can play, I would recommend the whole word because it's so convenient!
